The remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness And speak no lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth; for they shall feed their flocks and lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.
Zephaniah 3.13
When speaking of the Remnant of Israel, the Word refers to Jesus Christ, the Savior, who died in our place, freeing us from the consequences of Adam's sin and paying our debt. Christ took upon himself our sicknesses and infirmities, transgressions and pains, as well as the chastisement that brings us peace. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit (Romans 8.1). Believe!
No bad or frivolous words ever came from Jesus' lips. His statements are like light, which does us tremendous good, and blessings, which prevent us from falling into the snares of the enemy. The Master's words have the power to lift up those who are prostrate in negative situations, overcome by pain and dominated by temptations. There was never any iniquity in His mouth. Christ lived in the world immaculately, doing good to all!
The Master never spoke a lie or used falsehood. From His heart came only good advice and beautiful promises. He declared Himself to be the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14.6). Even though He was falsely accused, He did not condemn anyone, but offered forgiveness, peace and, ultimately, His life (John 10.15-18). Whoever receives Him as Savior becomes a good Christian, whose meaning is Christlikeness. The world is waiting for people who look like Jesus!
No deceitful tongue can be found in our mouths either. If we have the Holy Spirit sent by the Father, we will love Him more and more and live the integrity of His Word (Matthew 5.37). The Lord will call us His friends (John 15.13-15) if we do what He commands. So, we must love Him with all our heart in order to carry out His work with excellence. Don't allow yourself to make the slightest mistake if you've already tasted Christ's love; you've been loved in the same way that He himself was!
Every saved person is shepherded by Jesus with the same love that the Father gave Him; therefore, we don't lack love and power. The Lord leads us to green pastures, taking us beside still waters, all for His Name's sake (Psalm 23.1-3). It is a pleasure to be led by Christ to where there is everything the Father wants us to possess! We will never be disappointed by how Jesus deals with us. He gives us the same treatment He received from God!
Man is flawed, always makes mistakes and cannot be considered a master. Only Jesus has the title of Master (John 13.13), because He behaved irreproachably during His days on Earth. Even He was persecuted by the scribes, Pharisees and priests, He never opened His mouth in condemnation, but warned people to beware: But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the Day of Judgment (Matthew 12.36).
This is the picture presented by Zephaniah: we will lie down in green pastures, feeding on the best the world will never give us. What's more, there will be no one to frighten us. The beasts of hell will never touch us, because the Remnant will keep us from all evil (read Psalm 91).
In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer
Lord, our Remnant! Without You, we would be nothing and could do nothing against evil. But in Your Name, we will overcome every obstacle. You will go before us, overthrowing the forces of darkness that rise up against us!
You are holy and You teach us to be so too. Walking by Your side, we will never stumble or deny You as God and Lord. There is no lie in You and no trickery. In Your mouth, there is only the virtue of shepherding us in Your grace!
It is good to be cared for by You and taken to the green pastures and still waters where Your little lambs lie down and rest. No beast from the kingdom of hell will come to scare us. Father, You are incomparable!
