But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

Hebrews 8.6

We are going to study the Son of God, who came to save us and to be our Savior, High Priest and Shepherd. He promised us: And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen! (Matthew 28:20b); therefore, He will never abandon us. The Lord is not like the priests of the past, whose mission was to intercede for those who came to them. The High Priest intercedes for those who seek Him and for other people, so that they may hear the Word and be saved.

The priests of the past were weak in themselves, but Jesus is perfection in strength and holiness, because He never knew sin. He created all things, fulfilling the Father's determination. Since the Savior made us kings and priests to God and His Father (Revelation 1.6), we have an obligation to reign, obeying His will. The Lord made us in His image and likeness (Genesis 1.26,27).

We cannot condemn the Law of Moses for calling imperfect men to be priests, for it was part of God’s plan. Jesus had not yet died, and this arrangement served as a precursor to the true priesthood in Him. It was only after the coming of Christ that people were no longer bound by sin and could resist temptation without falling into the devil’s snares. God is greater than the onslaught of the enemy, so resist him and you will come out of the struggle stronger!

Jesus proved that he could be made an eternal Priest because the devil tempted Him and found that he could not gain victory over Him; even in his thoughts the Master did not sin, as the Bible states: For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). May this be said of every saved person today for God's sake!

In the verse under study, the Gospel is called the word of the oath, in which God swore by Himself and fulfilled it in His Son, who did not let Him down. We can believe the Lord's statements in Scripture, for it is the pure Truth (John 17:17). If someone receives an understanding of the biblical promises, they can believe that the Most High has destined that revelation for them and will fulfill it, if they simply believe what He has said. Whoever believes will see the glory of God (John 11:40).

The word of the oath constituted the Son of God as the perfect Priest, and this will last forever. Many people say they love the Lord, but don't want to go to church because they think it's fanaticism. In fact, they haven't yet seen the glory of the Most High or tasted His love. Now, when we know the Truth, which is Jesus, we become conduits of divine blessings (John 14:6).

Anyone who stops going to church excludes themselves from the fellowship of God's people, and this is a matter of great spiritual seriousness. The eternal home of a person who is not in Jesus, and He in them, will never be Heaven. In this case, everything becomes serious, because God has destined this place for those who want to be “fanatics” (Hebrews 10:25; John 3:36). If you are in this situation, repent, because this talk is deceitful!

Today's Prayer

Beloved Lord! By Your decree, Jesus was elected to an eternal priesthood. Even if billions of years pass, multiplied by the same number of years, Christ will continue to be the High Priest. You are glorious!

Likewise, whoever has accepted the Savior has been made king and priest by Him, and this will never end. Father, our position in Your Son will never be diminished, but as the Bible says that he who has more will be given more, we can rejoice in Your wonders!

The word of the oath established Jesus as High Priest and us as His disciples, as well as kings and priests. Thank You for using us here on earth as You wish, and then in heaven. We will come before You to receive new orders and missions. Amen!
