Jesus spoke to His disciples about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that would happen not long after those days. Since they could not grasp the Master's revelation, they asked if it would be the moment when the kingdom would be restored to Israel, and the Roman Empire expelled from among the people of God in due time. At that moment, the important thing was that they received the Holy Spirit and did the same works as the Savior. Be connected to Heaven!

The Master spoke seriously with them, so that they would not disturb Him anymore with questions whose answers would not be given: And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. (Acts 1.7). We must learn to be servants and not being inconsiderate people who say whatever they want, for by acting this way, we will never get answers. The Lord will assist us if we take care of His Kingdom, which is spiritual.

Jesus wanted to show the people the value of the anointing to be received from His hands, when the time came, and with this ability, they would go into the world to show who the true God is, who hears our prayers: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (verse 8).

While Jesus was instructing the disciples, the people beside Him were amazed as He was lifted up and covered by a cloud. Perhaps, they had never imagined having the privilege of seeing the Son of God return to His place. Christ came from a seed like ours, was conceived in Mary’s womb, and will return as the Almighty, Lord of Heaven and Earth. We have to deal with Him!

They witnessed a great spectacle, but one day, Jesus will descend to destroy the wickedness of our planet. He Himself spoke about it: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  (Matthew 24.29). Everything will become harder because He will return to put an end to the material world and take us to His Kingdom of love.

Thus said the Lord about the forthcoming events in Heaven, when all nations, for not having believed in Him, will lament: Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  (Matthew 24.30). The time to evangelize the world is now!

Christ promised to be with us until the end of the ages (Matthew 28:20), but having been hidden from us by the cloud that received Him, we will not see Him until that day when the sign is given and, with a great shout of war, He will descend to Earth to finish the work begun since the foundation of the world. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2) and will take us to His Kingdom!
