His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

Psalm 112.2

One thing we can be sure of: if we fear the Lord, taking great and true pleasure in His commandments, all will be well with us. The fact that we obey His commandments with joy and contentment sets us apart from other people and makes us pleasing to Him. Our God is Almighty, righteous, and faithful at all times in our lives. If we follow Him, we will live with Him in Heaven!

Those who understand the Word and love to do God's will, will never see their descendants beg for bread (Psalm 37:25). Even if the righteous and those who obey the Word have already gone to Heaven, their relatives will never be a source of shame for the family or society, but will be recognized as the people whose ancestors honored Jesus (1 Samuel 2:30). Believe, pray, and live!

In the house of the righteous, there is everything good: prosperity in every way, including love and faithfulness, a plentiful table, and, above all, an abundance of peace and security. This is what the Word of God promises: Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. (Psalm 112.3). We should not be surprised by all the people who accept the Good News, for they become righteous through the good they receive from the Lord.

The advantage of being righteous is the divine promise that light will dawn upon him in the darkness (Psalm 112:4); therefore, he will never lack understanding of who he is in Christ, and his offerings and gifts used in God's work will cause him to be remembered as someone who belongs to the Most High. Among the attributes of the righteous are their piety, mercy, and justice shown to the less fortunate and abandoned by all (verses 4-6).

Another virtue of the righteous is that they have compassion on and help those in need, even though they may not always be able to repay the amount they have been lent (Psalm 37:21; Psalm 112:5, 9). For these benevolent acts, the righteous will be rewarded by the Lord—Who with wisdom will guide his affairs with discretion. (Psalm 112.5b). There is nothing better than living to serve God and neighbor. The Most High will help you live with dignity.

A good person is easily recognized, for they love to help others without expecting anything in return. Because their heart is open to those in need, they will never despair when faced with bad news. Their heart, firmly rooted in God, will ensure that the righteous are remembered forever by others (Psalm 112:6,7). The righteous will be remembered by everyone, even those who have never reached out to help anyone.

Those who live in obedience to the biblical commandments are surrounded by love, and help soon comes when bad rumors begin. There is no way God will fail those whose hearts are established (v. 7), for they trust in Him. The Lord will spare the merciful and righteous from any hellish attack. Watch!

Today's Prayer

Faithful Father and keeper of promises! It is good to live in the certainty that You will never abandon those who live to do good and do not give offerings from what they have left over; rather, they are generous in helping those in need!

The world will recognize that there are people who make charity a way of life, for they love being in contact with the less fortunate to encourage them to use their faith in Christ. You are wonderful and good to all!

The generation of the righteous will be blessed by You; after all, You do not break Your commitment to Your servants. The Covenant You made with man was not suppressed by any law, but rather prepared to give love to humanity.
