That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts

Ephesians 4.22

People who are born again are aware of the work done within them, which has made them heirs of eternal life. They should not even think about the wrong and crazy things of the past, lest they be tempted to fall into the same trap of the enemy and be subjugated by his power to destroy lives. It would be good if the saved did not even watch the world's movies, which are poisoned by the devil.

When we accept Jesus as Savior and become children of God, we must stand firm in everything we have learned from Heaven. Returning to the old life is the same as renouncing the gift of God—eternal life (Romans 6:23). Why would a saved person leave their security in the Savior to wander in the lands of temptation, which would easily bring them under the oppressive yoke of the devil? It is not worth surrendering to the enemy if you are being prepared to ascend with Christ.

The past life no longer exists for those who are in Christ and born again (2 Corinthians 5:17). Unfortunately, however, driven by curiosity, some want to relive those moments. As a result, they will not be freed from the dominion of the king of Hell. They should prepare themselves to ascend with the Lord to Heaven, but because they are attached to sin, they act like those who will dwell in the lake of fire and brimstone, which will burn forever (Revelation 22:10-15). Mercy for these people!

The command is to strip off the old man, not to try to resurrect him. Those who do so will realize how foolish they were to exchange the Kingdom of God for that of suffering. The saved must never waste time with the infernal things that surround them; insist on this, and you will return to the domain of the evil one, and then nothing more can be done for your faltering life (James 1:7,8). Persevere in doing good!

There is corruption and destruction in the unbridled desires of the world; therefore, no one who has surrendered to the practices of the past has been saved. Those who have made their way back to hellish dominion and citizenship suppose they have found happiness on Earth, but after they die, they will plunge into the devil's deadly swamp. Then, at Christ's glorious return, these poor souls will ask Him to forgive them, but forgiveness will not be granted (Matthew 7:21-23). Eternal death is real!

Those who give in to evil spirits will find themselves in suffocating bonds that will hold them forever. But why surrender to the adversary when you can and should trust in faith in Jesus? It is stronger than all of Hell put together, so don't let the enemy convince you. Instead, believe in the redemptive plan of the Lord, who gave you eternal life. Now, if you do not strip yourself of the old man, you will be condemned!

This is the most opportune moment for you to return to the Kingdom of God. So confess all your sins to Him and ask Him for forgiveness. Only then will you feel strong enough to rebuke the evil one. Don't put it off until later! Pray to God and tell Him of your desire to go to Heaven. He will help you get rid of sin!

In Christ, with love,

Today's Prayer

God of holy eternity! We lose so much when we listen to the devil, who only speaks untruths and uses seduction as his masterpiece. Deliver us from our errors and make us Your true children. Lord, we need strength so that we do not fall!

Regarding past dealings, we want to free ourselves from any involvement that binds our hands. Deliver us from the lies of the enemy and the errors that take hold of us, for we want nothing of the old man. Help us!

We cannot dwell on the lusts of deceit. These carnal desires will lead us to eternal damnation. We cry out for Your love and Your mercy. May You be glorified by our return to Your Kingdom!
