Brethren, let each one remain with God in that state in which he was called.
1 Corinthians 7.24
We often use this verse to guide married couples about the doubts that arise when one of the spouses has accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. They ask whether they should take a break from the relationship or divorce right away. The answer lies in clear biblical guidance; there is no need for human counsel. If the wife or husband continues as they were, they must fight for the salvation of their spouse, because God is faithful!
The Lord knows all things, which is why Christ spoke to the Samaritan woman: Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here.” The woman answered and said, “I have no husband. Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband’ (John 4:16,17). She didn't lie before the Savior, but honestly acknowledged that she had no husband. The person who sees Jesus in the Scriptures must always speak the truth!
The Samaritan woman's correct attitude made Jesus praise her frankness. If she had kept quiet, it is very likely that the conversation between her and the Lord would have ended at that moment. When you're in prayer and feel the urge to confess your wrongdoing to God, don't put it off for later, confess it right away. The Highest will never listen to anyone who tries to deceive Him.
Throughout the conversation, the Master summed up her life: “For you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly” (John 4:18). Jesus does not give permission for fornication, nor for someone to live with a person, having intimate contact, without being married to them. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God (Ephesians 5.5).
Then comes the question: “What should I do if he or she doesn't want to get married?”. Well, the saved person must seek with all their heart and soul the positive response of the one who spoke: So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16.31). This declaration from the Word is the weapon for a person to use so that their partner will be convinced by Christ and accept Him into their life!
When a person is converted to the Gospel, they need to know that God's plan is greater than they think. God wants to set everything right in their life, so that they can go up with Him on the Day of the Rapture of the Church (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Before she was saved, she was darkness, but now she is light in the Lord: For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (Ephesians 5.8). The sincere servant of God continually enjoys His favor.
As for the separation of couples that we see in our day, the least we can say is that there is disrespect for the Word of God, which says: So then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate (Matthew 19.6). This answer from the Master solves the problem of divorce. Anyone who disobeys this direction is not a disciple of Christ and does not know the Truth that frees from all oppression (John 8.31,32).
In Christ, with love.

Today's Prayer
God of marriage! You allowed man to find a woman and marry her, preparing what was necessary to form a family, where love and respect would show that You are the “glue” that united them and their children are Your inheritance!
Today, we see disrespect for You, because there is no love. The desire for sinful practices has prevailed even in the marital bed, putting blemish in the place where holiness should be honored and glorified. As you are holy, so must we be!
Forgive those who never tire of asking for Your help. They need to reject the devil's will in order to ascend with You. Wash those who have repented of their iniquities and their repetition of them, giving them the pleasure of saying no to the evil one and living to glorify You!
