So David rested with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David.

1 Kings 2.10

Those who have been born will have their day of departure for eternity. The person who has accepted Jesus and remained faithful to the end, practicing the good works prepared for them, will be received with the greatest joy by the Lord (Ephesians 2.10). However, those who did not heed the Lord's warnings will not be invited into the Kingdom planned since the foundation of the world. Poor lives! They didn't love the Savior or His coming, so they will be sent to the lake of fire and brimstone (Matthew 25.31-46).

This is how God spoke about Jesse's son: And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ (Acts 13.22). We can't be like those who don't love the Lord, indulging in practices condemned by the Scriptures, without paying due attention to God's directions. Whoever does not turn to the Most High will be condemned. Mercy!

The apostle Paul was used to warn us of the dangers we are subject to when we don't keep watch on divine promises: See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, (Ephesians 5.15). The day will come when we will be taken out of this life, whether we like it or not. Then we will enter the world of Truth to give an account of our deeds. The books will be opened and we will be judged by what is written in them (Revelation 20:11-15). Where will those who never read the Bible go?

Some people are so cunning, and innocent too, that they think they will find a good excuse to pass eternal judgment. They think that the Lord, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life, is not intelligent. Jesus spoke about our responsibility to meditate on the Scriptures: You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. (John 5.39). Free yourself now from the devil's lies and believe in Christ!

David was irreproachable, because he knew how to live what God envisioned for him. Jesse's son was no different from us. Even when he sinned, he repented until he received a new heart, which no longer allowed him to be deceived (Psalm 51). So he left this life to be at the side of the Almighty. You urgently need to check the way you live. Know this: whoever is not born again (John 3:3-5) will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

We will sleep with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the rest of the Lord's servants. Now, entry will be forbidden to anyone who has not loved God. The Most High has given a sign that you are saved, saying that before you go to live with Him, the Father and the Son will already be dwelling within you: Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.  (John 14.23). What do you say?

Don't miss the opportunity to be redeemed by the Lord. By your decision to become a servant of Christ, God will dwell in you: But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21.8). Accept Jesus now and be happy always!

Today's Prayer

God of our salvation! Why live in uncertainty if we can receive Jesus as Savior and Lord? That's all we need to be sure that we won't be confounded at the last minute of our lives!

We call on the Name of Christ to deliver us from iniquity. Nothing will stop us from being saved and acting as Your witnesses in the days of difficulty and temptation. We will do everything right, because we want to be happy. We are grateful for Your warnings!

We are also grateful for the chance to be born again, being remade in Christ, the Lord of glory. From now on, we will feed on the Bread of Heaven, so that You may be glorified in Your Son. We will know You as we are known by You.
